Cloud Property Management is comprised of a diverse group of individiuals with dramatically different backgrounds, all brought together by Founder & President Teofil Scorte. Bringing a true passion for real estate, our Team came together to create a business model that is rare in today’s real estate market: provide exceptional buildings in distressed markets, with uncompromising service.
Teofil “Teo” Scorte – Founder & President
Teo has been actively involved in Chicago’s real estate market for over 15 years. A serial entrepreneur and businessman, he has founded various companies over the years, focusing on real estate design, development, and construction. Teo has gained experience in all levels of land development and home-building. This includes property level feasibility, due diligence analysis, acquisitions, financing, entitlements, design & architecture, and general contracting. He has completed over 1,000 construction projects ranging in size and complexity, and totaling over $50,000,000. Seasoned real estate investors and large property management firms have come to rely on his design and construction expertise.
After having built Halo Construction DBM, Inc. into a sizeable company with double digit growth in each of the last five years, he began focusing his energy on multi-unit real estate development. In 2013, Teo founded Cloud Property Management, LLC with the goal of building and self-managing an ever-expanding multi-family real estate portfolio. Relying of his design and construction expertise, Cloud began targeting and acquiring properties where rezoning, redesign, and reuse created substantial upside opportunities in property valuations. To date Cloud and its affiliate entities have purchased over 125 units, ranging from three flats to larger commercial, residential, and special use properties through-out the Chicagoland area, with a strategic focus in the Pilsen neighborhood. The portfolio currently has an as-completed value in excess of $20MM. With a combination with time-tested strategies such as quality control, recruitment of top talent, and an understanding of the market place, Cloud Property Management has experienced double digit growth in each of the past four years.
Teo holds a B.S. in Telecommunications Management. When he’s not working, he is an avid chess player and serves as a Youth Pastor for Philadelphia Church, located in Chicago’s Ravenswood neighborhood. Teo is married with three young children and their family resides in the north suburbs.
Mark Micula – Construction Manager
As the company’s Construction Manager, Mark focuses on coordinating and supervising the construction process of a wide variety of projects. Mark manages the firm’s projects from a high level, ensuring that they are completed on-time and within the budget. He also focuses on budgeting, contracts, scheduling, and acts as a liaison between engineers and architects. Prior to his current role, Mark was a Partner & Construction Manager in our affiliate company, Halo Construction DBM, Inc. Prior to that, Mark was a Partner & Assistant Manager in a family run senior assisted living business, Home Sweet Home, LLC, which is still actively operated. Mark is a numbers guru and was also a professional poker player, serving as a Supernova Elite Player to PokerStars (one of only a few hundred players world-wide) and having played in tournaments around the globe.
Mark attended DePaul University to pursue a Business Management degree, before taking a hiatus to play professional poker. Needless to say, we don’t invite him to the office poker games. Mark is married and lives in Chicago’s Sauganash neighborhood with his wife.
